Both Leigh and Terry were born and raised in small country towns, prior to living in Sydney region, so are well aware of the unique requirements of rural life and are thoroughly enjoying their current home and community. Since arriving in Childers, they have undertaken the renovation of their 100yo high-set Queenslander – and the story continues.
Leigh took up quilting in 2011 using a 30yr old sewing machine. With her passion quickly gaining momentum and wanting to advance her skills, she invested in an upgraded computerised domestic machine. Free motion quilting ensued opening up a whole new delightful way of finishing her quilts.

From word of mouth, commissioned quilt making then began. Open to trying new designs and exploring new techniques, her love of colour ever apparent, Leigh has embraced a variety of different methods into her sewing whether it’s with applique, trapunto, bias tape, binding, templates and of course free motion quilting.
It was one recent sunny Saturday morning at the local markets when, without notice, her friend Lisa said those fateful words…..”Would you like to buy my business?”….. the seed was sown, and Quick Quilt Long Arm Quilting Service began its transition.

And the Flamingo thing? – you may well ask! Nothing more than they make me smile every time I see one, whether in a gift shop, fabric shop or nursery – hence I do have a couple of quilts, some quirky ornaments and garden art. My home is full of colour and curios and Terry and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
